So, without further ado let me review all the popular and the best adblock extensions to block ads on Chrome: - AdThwart Adblocker for Chrome What it does: Adthwart addon is an typical adblocking extension that reduces the number of ads seen on webpages by blocking them. Although the addon is still in it's primitive state but has been already downloaded 35000 times. Download Adthwart Works? Sadly, the devilish icon laughs at you without blocking the ads.. Yes, it didn't work for me! But the future updates include easylist that allows you to filter advertisements from online websites. So keep an eye on this upcoming adblocker.. The latest Google chrome extensions are available for download but won't work on 3.0 Google chrome browser. So, as a fix Google wants you to install the beta version of Google chrome browser which extends the support for addons. Note: This installation steps are for windows/linux users only. The Mac Chrome browser doesn't support Chrome addons. Install Google Chrome Addons on Chrome Browser First step is to check this page and see if the install button works on your chrome browser. If it doesn't then your chrome browser doesn't support addons. Hence, uninstall it by visiting the control panel –> Add/remove programs and remove 'Google chrome' or you can use free programs like ccleaner to delete the installed Google chrome browser. Now, go to this page and again download the Google chrome beta channel. The installation is fast and you will be able to add extensions. It has been over an year since Google chrome browser was released (for Windows and Linux), but for the Mac users there was Google Chromium (not the official Google chrome) only. Anyway, now that the Chrome for MAC OS is released, you can directly download by clicking here. Google Chrome on Mac OS Although the latest Mac Chrome browser is still in beta stage but you can still reap the benefits of using Chrome themes, incognito mode and many more features that are incorporated from Windows Chrome browser. What about Mac Chrome Extensions? While Google chrome team has officially released Addons but they won't be working for Chrome on Mac as of now. Techcrunch has an article on how to install addons on Mac but they are not working either. In this post I will be talking about the best adblocking addons extensions for Google chrome. As you know, Google rolled out the new extension features that works just like Firefox and as similar to adblock+ for Firefox we have Adblock for Chrome browser too!
I am still playing with it though. It blocks most of the advertisements on the website and luckily it's the only working Chrome adblocker. Oh yeah, it doesn't block inline advertisements. Rating 3.5/5
